Mount Vernon is a National Historic landmark and former farm of George Washington, the first president of the United States. The land was first acquired in the year 1674.
On the way leaving historic Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, pass by Freedmen's Cemetery; Dyke Marsh Wildlife Habitat; George Washington's River Farm; Fort Washington; Fort Hunt; George Washington's Grist Mill and Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens.
All guests are required to purchase a ground pass for entry to the estate. Children 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
